YES! K-OS
15 May 2009Our Hometown Hero , K-OS has returned … With his fourth album “Yes!”. As with everything he does, K-OS is always breaking boundaries… And, the Yes! Karma Tour is no exception.
The shows are not ticketed, and entrance will be on a first-come first-served basis. Sooo with that said you could imagine how jammed packed the Kool Haus was. With fans of all ages coming out to support… I even met K-OS’ BIGGEST little fan Ivie who happens to be my new BFF!!

K-OS & Ivie
Here’s the deal in exchange for super awesome concert experience fans are asked to contribute to the CAUSE… 1- David Suzuki Awareness Table: 50% of funds raised will go to the David Suzuki Foundation, the other 50% will go towards offsetting tour costs. 2 – Karma Table: this table will be designated for Karma donations only. 3 – Exit doors: Security will be set up at the exit doors of each show with cash-only drop boxes for people to pay what they felt the show was worth.

The vibe at the concert was real chill, the interaction K-OS had with the crowd was genuine that of an old friend if ya kno what I mean. He was rollin’ with his full band & of course his DJ on the 1’s & 2’s.

The crowd was engaged with tracks like “Valhalla” and “Catdiesel”; where at times K-OS was almost overshadowed by his band and DJ who were soo bad ass. Like really, the guitarist at one point went on a solo rift that was soo nuts I thought he was in he’s own world.

In true K-OS fashion he hit the crowd with up-tempo Joyful Rebellion and Hymns to Atlantis and favourites like “Crabbuckit” and “Sunday Morning,” spontaneously droppin’ a freestyle every now and then. Tracks from Yes! included “Burning Bridges”and “4, 3, 2, 1” and were energetically performed with breaks of keyboard, guitar and a beat-box here n there. We just couldn’t let him walk off stage and say the nite was over… Soooo, with bellows and screams of encores, K-OS gave in to the peer pressure & hit the stage for one more. The nite ended with “Man I Used to Be” where K-OS donned a trench coat for all his adoring fans!!!

I hope everyone did their part to contribute what they could!?! Now, doesn’t that feel good!! Can we say “Instant Karma”!!
