20 Questions With Eric Balfour

Eric Balfour has long been a pal of PinkMafia’s and even though he lives in LA permanently he’s often up in the Great White North shooting either something for the boob tube or moving pictures. He’s been living in Halifax for a minute now shooting a rad new series called Haven (premieres on Showcase July 12) that’s based on Stephen King novella, The Colorado Kid. Essentially it’s a sci-fi dramatic thriller set in a small town called Haven (in Maine) that an FBI agent (played by Emily Rose-Jericho, Brothers and Sisters) stumbles upon whilst investigating a routine case. It’s got all the stuff that good TV is made from: Suspense. Supernatural powers. Babes. And if it’s shot in Halifax, you can bet the scenery will be extra dreamy. Balfour was nice enough to take some time from his hectic schedule and fill out the 20 Qs for us.

1. What is your dream of happiness?

Living in a house where one floor looks like The Pirates of The Caribbean” ride at Disneyland.

3. What is the quality you like most in a man?

A man who isn’t afraid to admit his penis is small… WHAT????

4. What do you fear most?

Failure

808s Old school electro bass sounds, love ‘em!!!

6. What’s your biggest regret?

Fuck regret… Shit, I regret saying that.

7. What’s your fav bar or club in the world?

Jumbo’s Clown Room, Hollywood CA

8. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Air… Duh!!!

9. What are the 3 musicians dead or alive you’d like to see perform?

Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, and JEM and The Holigrams ( She’s truly outrageous!)

10. What is your favorite decade in music?

80′s.. The Smiths, The Clash, Prince, etc…

11. If you had to choose, would you rather go blind or deaf and why?

I hate this fuckin question and will not answer it on the grounds that if I did answer it and ever  lost that sense I would be fuckin pissed I didn’t choose the other one…

12. How old is too old?

I mean… I’ve met some pretty smokin women in their 60′s so I guess if they can still chew their own food and don’t need diapers it’s all good.  I’m on the fence, I could go either way…

13. Where do you see yourself in 15 years?

Playing Pirates with my kids in our “Pirates of the Caribbean themed house”

Brown, but not like chocolate more like poop.

20. What are the top three live shows you’ve seen in your life?

Rage against the machine, @ Coachella 2007. Red hot chili peppers, @ Tibetan freedom Concert (SF) 1996. Michael Jackson @ Dodger Stadium 1984 ( I was seven years old and my mom took me. I was wearing the red thriller outfit, the glove, I even had sparkly socks! It was the moment I knew I wanted to be a performer ) Here’s a clip from it:
