Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti

Have you noticed that kids are becoming long haired psychedelic throwback hippies again? First it was a sort of skater meets Strokes era New Yorker, but recently it’s gotten very beachy up in cyberspace. I feel like MGMT started the whole mess and then Drums grabbed the baton. Well Haunted Graffiti have their hat in the ring now too.

Let’s hope, like all hipster throwbacks, that this is just a surface, sound thing, and we don’t end up back in the old Joplin/Hendrix/Morrison days when everyone died from drugs and Timothy Leary and Aldous Huxley got stale. Instead, let’s all enjoy the poppy hooks and sunny California imagery and be safe!
