Get Ready It’s A New Day, Asher Roth Promo Tour

Not gonna lie, Asher Roth in this video won us over the way Forrest Hill boys who smoked weed and wore Cool Water cologne won us over in high school. There is something so nice about him, something compelling and sweet. Almost touching.

G.R.I.N.D is his new single, which stands for “Get Ready, It’s a New Day”, kind of a nice white-boy motto to live by and it has the sweet double entendre of “on the grind” which is some “on the real” hip-hop slang that rappers use.

The more I watch it (3 times now), the more I get hyped for his new stuff. beyond the music (we get it, he speaks to white kids, already devouring hip hop), there’s this ‘every kid’ feel that makes you think, “if Asher Roth rolled through town, we’d probably go for beers, maybe even a game of darts. Yeah, Asher Roth and I would totally be friends”, and in this day and age when kids just want to be famous for nothing, any ounce of that-could-be-me feeling just adds to the narcism in way we super dig.
