Viktor Mitic Shooting Art with an M-14

Viktor Mitic is creating controversy by shooting at some of pop culture’s biggest names: Madonna, Paris Hilton, Quentin Tarantino and Warhol. On Thursday  Sept. 23 at the Moos Gallery (622 Richmond St. West), Mitic will launch his much anticipated  Bullet Paintings Series and new book,  ART OR WAR .

“There is an uneasiness in people and their perception of weapons, since  they are made for one purpose only – to kill . I use weapons to re-create iconic images,“ says Mitic. “I carefully shoot the outline of the subject that surprisingly generates a feeling of tranquility. Although the process is very loud, there is a sense of peace after the smoke is gone. I’m creating something that reflects beauty and that gives some perspective on our society.”
