Fall Fashion The World Over

Fall Fashion The World Over

We stem from a era in which fashion blogs provide fashionista’s and enthusiasts with an alternate reality to the once closed circuit industry, that many hope to get a taste of. Street Style Fashion has become a thriving element within the blogosphere, and has reached phenomenal heights. Initially street style blogging was used as a medium for documentation of real people and everyday style. Now it has evolved into a means of enabling style from a international stand point. In a matter of seconds we are able to browse and gawk at fashion from its grassroots, the consumer. In many ways, those captured in street style blogs are inspiration for those seeking a substitute for high-end magazine spreads etc.

I can truthfully say, that I am one of the many thousands of people who skim through street style pictures seeking a person’s daily expression. The way that a person is able to incorporate their moods, thoughts and personality into their selection of clothing has the ability to alter how that person is perceived. I absolutely love Toronto and how multicultural it is. We live in a city that consists a vast amount of people who are able to channel their inner personality through fashion. With the popularity of street style rising many are faced with pondering, “Is street style fashion beginning to look repetitive?”

While some fear globalization is ruining the effect of street style fashion, others praise it for the success it has provided to numerous markets. Lets face it the more that we tune into street style blogs, personal style is no longer as apparent. Instead the perfect images of duplicated style have begun to shelter the individualism that different countries/cities once possessed. Can globalization solely be blamed for the lack of creativity people display in street style images? Regardless of the latest trends, people have made it acceptable to copy popular clothing trends instead of embodying it. In fact we often take pride receiving the title of being a trend settler, oppose to focusing on what makes us stand out for the right reasons.

With the mass production of clothing being distributed into various markets, it has become difficult to avoid style duplication. It’s something that is nearly impossible to avoid. So why not stop complaining about repetitiveness, and focus on I ngenious creativity.
