THE BLONDE PONCHO: Back to the Future
Who got the Back to the Future shoes?
I was never a big fan of Back to the Future, because lets face it I wasn’t even born yet when it was released. But as a shoe person, whether it be high heeled Michael Kors or Nike Dunks I can appreciate a shoe. And even more so, I appreciate a shoe with a good story.
So by this point I’m sure you’ve all heard about the marriage between Michael J.Fox and Nike and how they’ve created a beautiful baby called the Air Mag. If you’ve missed it here is the down low…
The Air Mag is a play on the Nike shoes that Michael J.Fox wore in the Back to the Future movie. These shoes are nearly an exact replica only better. They’ve been enhanced for comfort and they actually light up for up to five hours at a time. WOW.
Nike only released 1500 pairs and sold them on ebay with funds raised going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease. The bidding ended on Sunday and some names are beginning to trickle out as to who laid down the big bucks for the futuristic shoes…..
The first pair went for an outstanding 37, 500 to the British rapper Tinie Tempah.
Other lucky guys who now own Air Mags are Marco Belinelli (New Orleans Hornets), and Kid Cudi who bought four pairs. Why does Cudi need four pairs? If you’re in his inner circle expect a great Christmas gift coming your way.
