SMOKE W33D EVERYDAY
It’s 2007, the Ed Banger crew is bigger then anyone ever imagined, kids are getting dirty in clubs doing regretable things, and the white lines are never ending. Everyone is a coke dealer, and everyone is in search of the next next after party; COCAINE IS HUGE. The major driving force behind the white mountain was the blogs. Blogs, such as Discobelle, Big Stereo, Palms Out Sound, Discodust, Risky BizNiz & Fluokids, where major players in hyping, up and coming artists, and keeping people addicted to current and new artists. Everyday you could log onto any of these blogs, and find “leaked” tracks, and if, like myself, you followed these blogs religiously, you we’re always hungry. This form of “blog ADHD” goes hand in hand with having everything now now now, and the music just furthered this notion.

Sure, everyking KINDA sounded the same, but the music was banging! Previously mentioned Ed Bander et al, Bloody Beetroots, Crookers, Diplo, Drop the Lime, Steve Aoki, Daft Punk…..this is everything you’d find in dirty little clubs, kids right off their head, BFFs with everyone. The recession has not quite hit just yet, so bottle service and hotel parties seem to be the norm. The more intense the event, the more you spent. I can still taste the days of monthly bottle service. This was the time to RAGE.
Fast forward to 2009, and MDMA is making huge waves. Forget those little blue/pink/yellow/green pill with ?pressed onto it, full of…who the fuck knows, it’s all about getting right to the centre of what fucks you up; those dirty brown crystals. Sure, everyone was still doing mega amounts of blow, but MDMA was another substance to enhance your already enhanced party experience. No one was talking about MDMA as much a blow, but it was implied, and it was almost like people were doing MDMA just to keep the party going, which as of 2010, recession had hit and the bottles ran dry. The days of BANGERS was dead. No more mega clubs, no more Ed Banger hype, no one was following specific blog day-to-day hour-by-hour for the latest leak; Times have officially evolved. Fuck, looking back on my twitter and facebook profile, I’m surprised I made it to 2012…from the looks of it I was high…everyday? :S

W H A T E V E R it’s 2012 and there’s no fun left with coke or MDMA, its all about WEED/DOPE/KUSH/GREEN. Looking at some new hip hop artists to blow up over the last year either in their music or online all they wanna do is blaze, and why not? It can get you proper fucked, and there’s a certain element of swag to someone who just wants to get hiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I’m not saying smoking weed ever went out of style, but over the past year these emerging rap stars are bringing weed back to the mainstream. Not only is smoking weed seen everywhere, but also the branding of it. Weed plants, high characters, marijuana backgrounds and bandanas…why not be associated with something that will enhance your experiences not in a brain damaging way? SMOKE UNTIL YOU PASS OUT >>>>> Let’s take a look at some of the artists that have been blowing up over the last year and their weed smoking habits:
