ZAC EFRON: BOY 2 MAN
Going from a teen heartthrob to a credible actor with longevity, and ever lasting fame is almost impossible to pull off. Looking back at the 90s their are so many forgotten faces; all the Jonathan’s – Taylor Thomas, Brandis (RIP), and Jackson – The Hanson Bros, Rider Strong, Andrew Keegan, etc. none of which were able to hold on to their level of popularity they once had, but for some being a teen dream was just baby steps. Joshua Jackson, James Van Der Beek, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have all gone on to have very successful careers, and will surely leave a lasting impression in TV/FILM, but still none have reached the level of the crowning king of <3throbs: Leonardo DiCaprio.

Leo was the ULTIMATE boy sensation in the 90s, proved to have impeccable taste, whether it be in women, toys, vacations, or personal projects, and frankly can’t seem to do no wrong when it comes to choosing new roles (ahem, except *shutters* ‘Shutter Island’). Basically, in terms of going from <3throb to fantastic man, Leo has set the bar.

It’s 2006, and Disney has just launched the first installment of ‘High School Musical’ as a made-for-tv movie , and pretty much no one has heard of a little twink named Zac Efron/ Troy Bolton (seriously who was watching ‘Summerland’?). Two year later, with the 3rd and final HSM hitting theaters, it was almost impossible not to know who Zac Fucking Efron was; he was plastered all over billboards, on the cover of every Tiger Beat and US Weekly, and even having a doll created like him (in Try Bolton fashion): Zac Efron is going no where.
Proving that he had a greater target audience than HSM fans, Zac starred in 17-Again alongside Matthew Perry, hosted SNL, and starred in a skit for FunnyorDie.com. which helped further himself from just another pretty face. Sure he started off looking like a Brent Corrigan rip off, but now, thankfully, has grown into his face and is hands down a MEGA BABE. With his looks, and talent Zac is getting the recognition he deserves currently filming Le Daniel’s (Precious) ‘The Paperboy’ with Nicole Kidman, and Jon Cusack, Zac is well on his way to DiCaprio status.
