Welcome back to another scorching week on the fashion frontier. Hold on to your Birkins and sit back for the 411 on all the previews, parties, shows, and mishaps.

CASA BACARDI LAUNCHES AT DEQ LOUNGE

With the temperature rising and summer around the corner, the pilgrimage to find the perfect patio spot is a quest many embark on (myself included). Call me crazy, but I think I may have found my spot!! No, seriously I got the chance to peep the Casa Bacardi at DEQ Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, a new patio featuring a signature BACARDI® mojito and exotic cocktail bar… can you say hello?

The place was packed with over 200 peeps, the glasses were heavy and flowing with deelish delights like piña coladas served in coconuts and mojitos with fresh, organic mint from the on-site garden!! Let’s not forget that the party people were chatting and busting moves to DJ BelloSound aka resident DJ.

Huge shoutout to mixologist, Trevor Burnett, who trained all bar staff  and ensured that each drink was truly immaculate. The perfect finishing touches were the custom staff uniforms designed by Bustle Clothing, founded by Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow.

Lancôme Canada “La vie est Belle”

I would sound like a broken record if I professed my love for Lancôme Canada any more, but I must. As Lancôme launched LA VIE EST BELLE, a new feminine fragrance to celebrate life and it’s infinite beauty. The scent is a simple balance of Iris, with a depth of patchouli, finished with the youthful tone of gourmand accord.  I’m usually not a fan of light auras but this has the right blend of Sambac Jasmine and exotic Tunisian orange blossom.

The three French masters of perfumery: Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo have truly combined their talents to compose a beautiful fragrance. A veritable mark of luxury, “La vie est belle” contains almost 50% natural ingredients – a proportion that is scarcely attempted in most perfumeries nowadays – making this without a doubt one of most exceptional fragrances of the year. In 1949, Lancôme founder Armand Petitjean asked his artistic director George Delhomme to create a bottle to symbolise the aura of women with that “je ne sais quoi” that emanates such radiance. This design would long remain in the Lancôme archives… Entitled “Le sourire de cristal” or “The crystal smile”, 63 years later it finally assumes its full significance with “La vie est belle.” Ooooh and the best part is Julia Roberts is the spokeswoman… Which to be honest makes it perfect for the strong modern woman. PS, I loved the beautiful press book!!

VESSEL by Breeyn McCarney

This week, one of my personal faves Breeyn McCarney showed her latest collection at the Red Bull Space. VESSEL by Breeyn McCarney is a couture collection from the heart – so to speak – evident in the colour palette of reds, pinks, cognacs and burgundies. Coupled with that delightful print and those sneaky streak like patterns, its very reminiscent of a heart vessel. Peep below for images from the show courtesy of Steve Alkok.

As always thanks for the love and support!!

XOXO…Pinkie
