New Collection: Irvine Welsh

The Toronto Public Library Foundation has launched an awesome new membership program, called New Collection, aimed at book worms under 40. Single membership costs 300$ and gives you access to events featuring renowned writers, artists and intellectuals.

The latest event that members were privy to was at Luminato, Toronto’s Festival of Arts and Creativity, and featured Scottish novelist, Irvine Welsh. This intimate gathering allowed fans to sip cocktails while getting up close and personal to the writer who penned some of the most iconic novels of the last 20 years, including his most recent, Skag Boys – a prequel to Trainspotting.
