We are smack in the middle of summer and it has been HOT here in Toronto. Living in a city where the climate goes from one extreme to the other, you will find everyone spending their time outdoors the minute the temperature is on the rise. And you won’t find us indoors again until it starts to get bitterly cold. But let’s not think about the cold anytime soon and enjoy the heat while it’s here! I’ve decided to collect some recent finds from one of my favourite online shops, Etsy, and share them with you all. Most of these items are vintage and one of a kind, but I am sure you can find similar pieces if you keep your eyes peeled.

This collection is inspired by outdoor entertaining and selected items that would contribute to a beautiful and refreshing picnic. You’ll find a mixture of glassware, linens, serving dishes and little touches to set the perfect mood. I’ve stuck to crisp and bright colours in sea glass shades, used various patterns, and played with different textures. Hope you enjoy!

I wanted to leave you with a recipe of my summer cocktail of choice (conveniently titled ‘the best party cocktail you’ll ever have). I stumbled across the recipe a couple of months back, tried it amongst a few friends and man, it was a hit!

Recipe:
1 cup of rosemary simple syrup
(Boil one cup of sugar in one cup of water with a couple rosemary sprigs thrown in. Boil until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool.)
1 cup gin
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 bottle of Prosecco (or 2, if you want the cocktail to be lighter)

Stir ingredients together in a punch bowl or carafe, and garnish with sprigs of fresh rosemary.

Hope this tasty treat and décor ideas leave you inspired and daydreaming about your next picnic!
