20 Questions with Electric Youth
We’ve been big fans of Electric Youth since we heard them on the Drive soundtrack while drooling over Ryan Gosling’s body. That soundtrack was so amazing, it inspired the Drive Tour featuring Electric Youth, College and Anoraak . Go see them tomorrow night at Wrongbar. Because we love them (and this song) so hard, we decided to ask them our 20 Questions.
1. What is your dream of happiness?
Bronwyn: That is a very big question but we can definitely say we experience happiness on a daily basis, we are just grateful for that!
2. Blonde or Brunette?
B: Totally indifferent, it’s not nice to choose sides:)
3. What is the quality you like most in a person?
B: Honesty
4. What do you fear most?
B: Snakes, drowning, or being buried alive.
5. 808s or 909s?
Austin: Definitely 808
6. What’s your biggest regret?
B: Don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t regret the big stuff, what’s the point in dwelling on past mistakes or failures, we prefer to focus on the present and move forward from there.
7. What’s your fav bar or club in the world?
A: So far, the Barcade in Brooklyn, we collect vintage arcade machines and this place is full of them!! We still have many more places in the world to explore so we will have to expand on that in the future.
8. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
B: I would be very sad if candy did not exist.
9. What are the 3 musicians dead or alive you’d like to see perform?
-Michael Jackson in his thriller days
-Michael jackson in his Jackson 5 days
-Michael Jackson in his off the wall days
10. What is your favorite decade in music?
A: Don’t really have one because our fav period of music was ’78 – ’84 but back half of the 80s, like ’86 – ’90, has to be the worst period of music ever!
11. If you had to choose, would you rather go blind or deaf and why?
B: For me deaf, despite the fact that my music career would be over, I would feel lost in the world without sight. I tend to process the world visually.
12. How old is too old?
B: You are never too old, age is just something people like to attach to their identities (like when people say “I can’t believe I’m turning 30! I’m getting too old!” That has never made sense to me). In our opinion, you are as young as you feel!
A: I agree, I think too old is not a number, it’s a mind state.
13. Where do you see yourself in 15 years?
B: I have no idea, I’m just focusing on today :) I’m sure it will be somewhere wonderful.
14. Who’s your hero?
B-Very cliche, but I’m eternally grateful for my parents, they are both heroes in my eyes.
15. What’s your favourite colour?
A: Blue
B: Red
16. What song could you live without ever hearing again?
B: A large proportion of dub step songs
A: Yes
17. Metallica or Madonna?
B: Madonna is definitely an influence of ours, as she has been for so many, but they are both greats in our eyes.
18. What’s your most hated vice?
B: I’d say my vice is candy but I don’t hate it…I love it!
19. Who is the most tragic figure in history?
B: ???? LOL. The Teletubbies. I was a daydreamer in History.
20. What are the top three live shows you’ve seen in your life?
B: 1.The sheepdogs at Hillside festival in Guelph, Ontario…the energy in the crowd was out of this world.
A: Saga first time I saw them and Saga the second time saw them (I’m not kidding).
