Pinkie’s Fashion Fix
IMG takes over World Mastercard Fashion Week
Like most of the fashion frontier in the Great White North, we have a few rumors flying around our Toronto Fashion Week. I was greeted with an early morning email with the subject: “FDCC and IMG Fashion, jointly announce IMG as the owner and producer of World MasterCard Fashion Week“. Yup, that’s right: The big guns have stepped in to takeover TFW now joining the likes of New York, London, Milan, Berlin, Australia, Tokyo, Mumbai, Istanbul, Miami, Russia, etc. This takeover shake-up has some great benefits for the designers and really the whole industry, I just hope it doesn’t get too big and crazy!! Just in case you’re wondering, Robin Kay will be stepping down as executive director, but will still remain president of the FDCC.

This Wednesday my homies (@Septembre & @Fashionights) and I had a chance to check out her hype at their media preview (I can’t lie I had already been there a couple times before)!!
Tika Simone the MC for the night made sure the evening at the salon was filled with lots of nail polish and great people. If you are looking for a fresh new spot in the city to get your nails did, from chains to gems and everything you can think of, the Kandi Apple Nail game is proper!! Peep below some of Tiffany’s designs on yours truly!!
JACOB Fall Trends Presentation
When to it comes to homegrown retail chains, JACOB happens to be one of my faves. Last week they presented their new line of fall goodies.
For fall, JACOB has taken inspiration from the swinging 60s’ and its sense of renewal and creativity.
The Mods collection takes cues from the cultural movement in London; this can be seen in the prints, polka dots, and stripes, as well as inclusion of key pieces like the mini-skirt, scarves, and chic accessories.
Another chic capsule for the season is The Magic of Ponte, which is everything the name claims to be. The collection is based on the magic of the Ponte fabric. It is ultra comfortable and, even better, wrinkle resistant! Thus, it is the perfect material for office attire.
The last capsule collection is The Silhouette Club, which is simply the modern, jazzed-up version of more classic office wear.
Ann Taylor Holiday Preview
Let’s face it, the holidays are around the corner. Ann Taylor decided for this holiday season to add a little texture, colour, sparkle and shine to her collection.
What I really loved, was how thoughtful Ann Taylor was at grouping some awesome gifts all under a $100 bucks!!!! I know…
As always thanks for following my adventures on the fashion frontier.
