What I Did This Summer Part 2: Evan, Kate Snack & Samantha

EVAN: Got summer hair and a new tattoo. Left the city as much as possible. Went to the island at least once a week until August. Went to 3 cottages; one in Quebec, one in Apsley, and one secret location on a private island. Took my cooking skills up a notch as well as my tan. Got into working out (fuck I’m fit). Pool hoped. Made bad choices (no regrets) Got to see my favorite performance artist – RiFF RAFF. Built a table..I’m masc. Transcended in nature. Too many BBQs to count. Went to Brass Rail to watch my bros get horny. Puzzled in my down time. Watched all the movies and smoked weed EVERY SINGLE DAY. VIP at Canada’s Wonderland. Saw a Praying Mantis on the Leviathan. Prayed to Mannon.

KATE SNACK: Summer 2012 was the most exciting summer of my entire life. It started in Austin in March and ended in August in Montreal. I Junoed, I Bluesfested. And even spent some on the lake. My weeknights were spent drinking Arnold Palmers and playing baseball in Trinity Bellwoods (lie). And my mornings were spent in the sunlight working with nobody but myself to answer to (truth). I saw Andrew Bird, A-Trak, and ASAP Rocky, Florence, The Beach Boys and Santigold. If you can fill me in on more shows I attended that would also be cool… And I even learned a couple things… Including what it means to say the truth.

SAMANTHA: I started with PinkMafia just as the summer was starting, so my summer was filled with a lot of concerts/events, and a few photoshoots here and there. Got to shoot some of my favourite bands: Refused during their reunion tour, New Found Glory at Warped Tour (which got rained out) along with many others. Died part of my hair yellow (which actually turned out slime green). Spent a lot of time on Toronto island, and discovered I can tan and don’t need to be a see-through blue-veined monster. Celebrated 1 year weed-sober. (yay I guess?) Went pool hoping for the first time. Baked a lot of cupcakes; for special occasions, but mostly not. Had my very first homemade Popsicle at the Sorauren Farmer’s Market. Spent as much time in Trinity as I could and learned to properly play Frisbee. I basically just drank a lot of Rolling Rock tall cans, spent a lot of time with my friends (and my kitten who won’t grow), and worked on building my portfolio as much as possible.
