RIP RANDOMLAND @ MOD CLUB–Friday August 14, 2009
First up on the weekend tour was RIP Randomland. As y’all may know, Randomland Fridays @ Circa is no more, sad I know (moment of silence). So in true Randomland rando-ness fashion, they had one last rumble at The Mod Club. . Beach balls, bubbles galore, balloons, lazers…rave.

Despite feelin’ a lil bummed ’cause the curtain was closing and I wanted to cut some rug, but for some reason I wasn’t feelin’ the vibe. Between the beach balls bein’ spiked at my head and the very young boisterous people acting a fool, it just wasn’t workin for me. Don’t get me wrong with a DJ lineup like Vaneska, Andy Ayres and other hot locals, I busted a groove, but I sure didn’t burn any holes in the floor. RIP Randomland left me wantin’ more, partin’ is such sweet sorrow.–Pinkie

RAEKWON @ SOUND ACADEMY-Saturday August 15, 2009
Let’s keep it moving a beautiful Saturday night @ Sound Academy for some real Hip-Hop with Raekwon the Chef of the Wu-Tang Clan.
From the second Raekwon touched the stage and C.R.E.A.M started flooding the air everybody just started goin’ mad. The Chef served up a buffet of classic Wu bangers and we were hungry we ate up every line spittin’ rhyme after rhyme. The crowd flow was so tight that Raekwon had to stop and say “Shit! Toronto…y’all kno’ your ish fa real.”
For the real Hip-Hop heads it was great we were reminded that it “Can It All Be So Simple” when we’re in this “Cold World”.

Of course you kno’ Raekwon took a moment to recognize one of the Wu’s fallen soldiers Ol’ Dirty Bastard–with a full breakdown of the anthem “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”. Remember y’all beware of Incarcerated Scarfaces!!!–Pinkie
MASQUERADE PARTY @ WRONGBAR–Saturday August 15, 2009
Isis Salem and Marc Smith’s b’days celebrated with a masquerade. DJs wer awesome (Violca, MANSION, Babri & Mitch from Teazedale and PSDO!NMFO). It was another fam night at Wrongbar. The irony is that the “Wrong-Bar” can’t seem to make one “wrong” move. Ha, here’s some pics.
HONEY JAM @ MOD CLUB–Sunday August 16, 2009
It was fantastic and these women I listed above will definitely be with in the game for a long time.–Natalie Lisa Johnson

Time For Some Weekend Loving!!!
Its the weekend party people.!! And the as usual I got the 411 on Weekend Lovin’ in the T-dot. If you plan on stayin’ in the city and the funds are low you may wanna catch some of the local festivals hittin’ our city. The 21st Annual Beaches International Jazz Festival is still in full swing until Sunday… Jazz musicians from around the world right in your own backyard, doesn’t get better than that (not to mention many of the shows are FREE).

The Harbourfront Summer Festivals Line-Up continues this weekend with Canadian voices, which is a new festival that showcases emerging Canadian musicians in classical, folk and rock, and the best part its FREE also. Also in the festival department and a personal favourite of mine is Caribana, the festival kicked off last week and is goin’ strong with the main event the Parade next weekend. And how could I forget the Live Green Festival… Oooo, thats right it got cancelled cause of the damn CITY STRIKE but I’m not bitter at all. OMG!!! for all my Fashionistas, and because we’re Fashionistas we usually broke… But to the rescue is Frugal Fashion Week. In the spirit of the economic times, Frugal Fashion Week offers a launch party, fashions shows, silent auction, shop crawl and more in the West Queen West neighborhood. A portion of proceeds benefit WINDFALL, Canada’s only new clothing bank… Anything in the name of FASHION!!

BTW… for all you open-air market lovers T-dot finally has it own. The Fermenting Cellar at the Distillery Distrcit will be hosting Portobello East Fashion + Art Market, a low-cost venue for local artistans and designers to showcase and sell their work directly to the public… Can we say FAB-U-LOUS!!

Don’t you worry I haven’t forgotten about all you beat junkies and I got just the thing for y’all Toronto SynthFest , the two-night Fest puts the instrument front and centre, with numerous local and live acts (like my personal fave Goldengirls). Y’all know we lockdown Wrongbar every Saturday and in true Pink Mafia fashion (’cause we do everything superfly) we got live Brooklyn’s Theophilus London. He’s sooo sick it hurts he rhymes, writes, sings and produces now thats a packakge, and of course on the ones n twos we got Rynecologist and Geoff Snack. Its gonna be a PARTY y’all!!!

Remember my peeps even though the weather blows let’s try to make the best of it… After all it is the WEEKEND!!!
Peace Out Pinkie

Get Er Done Tour Blog #1 Day 6: Tarannah
We rolled into Toronto like syphilis making a comeback. Having only slept two hours before leaving Deadmonton, and getting seated in kiddie playland on the four hour plane ride, we separated right quick to find dark corners to die in.
After a solid 14 hour catch up nap and a few half-assed remorsefully alcoholic promises never to wrestle that rider again, we were back in the saddle, this time joined by DJ Barbi and rap-pop group, The Royal
Society.
Oh Wrongbar, there ain’t nothing wrong about you. You’re like sex on wheels after a six month stint in the Don. Here’s a pic of the Pink Mafia Street Team, keeping it on lock.

L-R: Mica, Melania, Some Dude, Maddy
Lineup by midnight, hot barmaids busting spontaneous dance moves, and the door girl tossing hangover cookies between taking covers; it was definitely a Get Er Done date.
The ladies of Bitchin’ finally got their time to shine

Dancefloor was poppin ‘ basically all night.
Here’s a pretty picture of Charlie showing off the “Slut” stamp.

To the asshole who stole the slut-stamp: you better fucking save it as a souvenir. If we ever see it used anywhere, we’ll probably feed you your own ass Pink Mafia style. Interested in knowing more on this subject?
Ask around. I’m sure there are plenty of peeps who’d love to tell you exactly what that means.
Maren had a really nice friend named Heather who seemed pretty innocuous at first, then she showed up all skid-night prom queen and we knew we were sorrily mistaken. Here’s a nice one of her and Gay Rob deep throating a Redbull.

The Royal Society were seriously late for their time slot, so they had to go on at the end of the night instead. But it worked out cause the club was bumpin’. First show and they struck gold.

Barbi closed it down like a champ. But Barbi can do anything cause she’s like the best DJ in Toronto, and all you bitches know it.

A little drunk, ok a lot drunk, we stormed off to Fierce’s place for the after party. Which, friends is really just me doing a bit of tour math and the other girls blowing up an air mattress, but we try to sound like party monsters. Here’s a perfect example. This photo is totally innocent. Just reaching for a purse by the couch. But somehow, we manage to make it look grimy, slutty and slightly uncomfortable like an ass car crash you can’t stop staring at.

Worst sleep of my life later, and we’re off to Montreal, Royal Society and Barbi in tow. I rented a mini-van from Thrifty’s, but when we got to the counter, Abdul was already getting torn a new one by some guy who’s car they lost. They didn’t have ours either. After a woman-to-woman chat with the nice lady at the Hertz (no name tag or I’d give a shout out) next door, we got hooked up with a better deal on an Escalade instead.
And THAT is why a) I am the tour manager and b) women be running everyting!
I’ll leave you with this lovely pic of the whole crew (all but me of
course) pulled over at a McDonalds en route to La Belle Province.
